To drive the smart transformation and digital upgrade of Taoyuan’s manufacturing industry, the Taoyuan Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee hosted the "Taoyuan Smart Manufacturing Dual-Axis Sharing Forum: AI & Enterprise Health Check Dual Empowerment for Smart Manufacturing Upgrades." The event focused on the latest trends in smart manufacturing and shared the implementation progress and outcomes of two key services: "Industrial AI Talent Training" and "Enterprise Health Check."
Two managers from Dynamic participated in the "Industrial AI Talent Training" program and were honored as an Outstanding Graduate Enterprise. They were invited to share their experiences, discuss the challenges and achievements of the program, and help attendees better understand its practical benefits, inspiring more companies to join the journey of smart upgrading.
Volume Chang, Deputy Manager of the Technology Platform Development Department at Dynamic, shared his experience:
After completing the course, I was assigned a task: to find a project in our factory where AI could be applied. After much thought, I realized that the data from our automated machines could be utilized. Initially, I used AI to process the data and successfully predicted results with high accuracy. Excitedly, I shared my findings, only to be immediately rejected by the expert instructors. They bluntly stated that this was not what they were looking for and questioned, ‘Is AI really feasible?’
Their words were like a wake-up call, forcing me to step back and reconsider the root of the problem. Upon re-examining the situation, I found several issues: duplicate data, anomalies, excessive noise, insufficient dimensions, and low project effectiveness. If these factors weren’t addressed, AI wouldn’t be of any help.
499… 500… As I looked at the numbers, I realized I had already failed more than 500 times. The frustration kept building, but I pulled myself together and consolidated the lessons from my failures. On the 501st attempt, I successfully processed machine data smoothly, selected a high-value problem, and handed it over to AI for prediction. Observing the expert instructor’s reaction, I thought to myself—this time, I finally succeeded!
Data is like a storybook—it tells us what has happened. AI, on the other hand, is like a kaleidoscope, offering ever-changing perspectives that reveal hidden patterns and opportunities within the data. A different perspective can lead to a different ending. However, the true determinant of success is not AI itself, but rather how we interpret the data, define the problem, and whether we have the courage to challenge existing frameworks.
Ultimately, AI is just a tool. Its real value lies in our ability to understand the data behind it and imagine the unknown. Every attempt, whether successful or not, paves the way for the next breakthrough.
